To trick Mr.Gambari, UN envoy, the junta announces through their mouth-piece-media that there is a demonstration in Myitkyiinar . Actually that demonstration is a fake one for the junta wants to prove that their soldiers are not terrorist and not shooting at people and it's also the junta's plan to hide the truth of their terrorist evidences. At the same time, in Rangoon, the riot police are hitting with iron bar to any group of people whether they are demonstrators or not. After hitting violently, they arrest the people who collapse.

Internet line in Burma is not stable yet, now it is off again.

Above figure is the brain of a young student who was beaten violently to death by soldiers of the junta found in the drain near No. (3) Tarmway high school.

Now Internet is back online from Burma.
but it is difficult to use proxy.

Yesterday pictures in Yangon ( thanks to

Home industry Owners Mr Pho Zaw who lives in Mar Ga Street, South Okkalapa T/S, on 27.09 he drove his own car to downtown to buy the floor tiles, on the way to the downtown near by Kyikkason Pagoda he headed on the Military car, he give a Horn whilst the soldiers pulled off from his car and beaten him then drown into Pagoda compond, Heard he died, the death body is missing. His properties (eg, hand phone, cash and car were no return and missing.
Thandar Ngwe Oo (father U Tin Oo) age 29, pregnant 6monts whom was arrested by Military on 27.09 night.
At mid night on 28.09, The chairman of NLD SanChang T/S was arrested.

Where is Gambari? Where is he going? how junta is palning to trick on UN?

Gambari will arrive YGN 3:30 pm local time with the Silk Air today. The Junta is planning to take him to NAYPYITAW, which is the official capital of the country where there are not civilian apart from civil servant.

So, what is the reason for Gambri to go to Myanmar? He is ... shown the place where no people live and junta trying to blind him, and they will lie to him as usual, finally he might come back with answer ... well! .. SPDC is moving toward to Democracy. They will continue to cause blood shed in the streets of Rangoon and other cities ….

In order prevent the crowd gathering near the airport they are asking anyone going near the airport they are also blocking the road to prevent protest at the Air

He should have insist on seeing the situation in Yangon and Mandalay.

But at the same time, he might need to see Gen. Than Shwe in Nay Pyi Daw if he wants ask SPDC to stop.

Well.. May be his thinking is very different from South east asia's mind. He can be easily fooled and may be that's why SPDC accepted last time and let him meet DASSK.

I agree with you..Junta will show Gambari the so-called capital where no civilians live...and give tons of promises to look good for time being Gambari is there... When he leaves, Junta will do whatever they want.... so that trick has worked since 1962.. Most diplomatic rules do not apply to them........Hopefully his effort will make a different for our long struggled civilains.......

I am pretty disappointed and frustrated that the UN has really done nothing--at least publically--regarding the situation there in Burma. The fact that Gambari is known to be "diplomatic" to the point of accomadating the junta, does nothing for the people of Burma, their safety, or their potential to have democracy. On the other hand, reports have it that any time an envoy from the U.N. asks too many questions or crosses the junta, they are never let into the country again.

Regardless, the calls, faxes and emails need to continue into the United Nations around the world urging them to do something more than their status quo response.

Stay safe Ko Htike, the world is hearing you. The BBC and CBS were showing pictures today from your blog in news reports about the current situation in your country.

Peace and Safety be with you.

Poor work of UN

Unknown said...

What better way to embarrass the government than by demonstrating while the UN representative is there.

Although I admire the idealism behind the demonstrations, I have never seen such a revolution succeed when only the dominant side had weapons and was more than willing to use them. Unless factions within the military cross over to support the uprising, I see little hope in the long run.

All descent can ultimately be put down by force when force is the only card left to play.

Ko Htike,

tnx 4 ur blog work, it's often shown on intl TVs such as CNN and BBC. Burma is also on top news here in Italy every hour.

I hope GAMBARI's visit in Naypyidaw it's only a due-step towards a UN intervention. Military junta must be put aside and DEMOCRACY must be restored with on-site support UN TROOPS. No other solution.

I'm also fully disappointed for EUROPEAN UNION reaction to all this massacre: where is it's pro-peace international POLICY?

Finally jut wanted to say that I went to BURMA 1 month ago, and fully LOVED it and it's people; now I'm unable to make phone contact with any of the friends I met over there .

I hope to get back there soon!

Do not underestimate Gambri. In 2005 he delivered a report to the UN Council in which he stated that the country was ruled by a ruthless regime that has jailed more than 1,100 political activists, destroyed more than 2,700 villages, that it had displaced thousands of ethnic minorities into internment centers while he also reported on sexual crimes committed by state personnel against women.

He also stated that he doubted that political reforms were taking place, and that a new constitution was being drafted.

He is not an idiot.

They can cut off the internet from Myanmar and invite Gambari to fake protests, but they cannot cover up all of the evil that has been done to the people.

The satellites have captured evidence: and the bloggers are reporting with pictures, video, and eye witness accounts.

Maybe the cover-ups worked 10, 20, even 30 years ago, but not in today's world. We are all connected through the internet, where the whole world can have freedom of speech. The military junta cannot stop the WORLD WIDE web, the voice of the people, or the power of the monks.

Authoritarian style governments are quickly becoming a thing of the past. It has been proven that the people are quite capable of ruling themselves, and live more prosperous lives because of it. The military is a tool for the people, not the other way around.

Gambari has already been flown to Naypyidaw because it is the capital. I do not see how he had another choice in this matter.
Given his knowledge of the country's reality he is not likely to believe that the isolated capital reflects the rest of the country whose bloody events are in everyone's livingrooms by now.

I doubt it seriously that he will go along with the junta's interpretation. The whole world knows what is going on, the UN better than anyone else.
He will not make a fool of himself or the UN.

Let's wait.

Unknown said...

So they're leading him to Myitkyina. OK. And will they tell him that they just killed a noble and respected Buddhist monk there?...

"RFA: U Thilasara, a Buddhist monk from Myitkyina, died today, due to police and military brutality. He got a serious wound on the head, when police came to arrest him, and beat him up. After his death, the doctor was also forced to certify the death certificate that "heart disease" was the cause of death.

U Thilasara was educated in religious studies in Sri Lanka. He used to teach free English lessons to students in his town. Local people are furious about the death of such a noble man. Such police and military brutality is no strange story in Burma."

I read an article today in one of our french paper which tells us about the work you are doing from where you are Mr. Ko Htike. For many years now, I have been anxious about what was going on for Mrs. Suu Kyi, and now about people of Burma. I wrote mails to Burma embassies yesterday in different countries, since internet links were stopped between the rest of the world and Burma. I wanted them to know how much I was outraged about their actions against their people, as a journalist and a mother of four kids. I also wrote a mail to the Japan embassy in Canada to ask them what they would need to stop supporting the Burma dictature : ten journalists killed, one hundred ? I told all of them they should be ashamed about their actions. That is nothing in comparison of what you are doing but I am keeping telling your story at work and in my family. Be strong ; many Quebecers are supporting you.

Please keep on spreading the word and the pictures about the situation in Burma, many people are interested in informations.

On Thursday there were fotos on German TV-News I saw in your blog before and CNN TV reportet on your activities, including an interview.

Several bloggers (including me) published posts and linked to your blog.
For Oct.4 many bloggers plan to show their solidarity.
Probably this will not change the mind of the government in Burma, but at least it will show that the thoughts of many people are with the people of Burma.

Maybe the UN actions will not be very helpful, but Bloggers like you are putting pressure on the regime as well as on the UN by showing the free world what´s happening in your country.

I think many people all over the world were deeply impressed by the picturers of the peacefully demonstrating monks and the violence of the Junta.

I really do hope for peace, freedom and democracy for Burma!

Gambari's visit is nothing but a waste of time. The UN just want to be seen by the world that they are doing something. I don't expect any good will come out of this visit it will end up just like the previous ones. However, bloggers like Ko Htike and host of others are doing a great service to the cause by bringing up to date news and pictures to the world via the internet. The military regime and their brutal actions are under constant spotlight because of bloggers like them. They are my true heroes. History will remember them for their contribution.
Long live Burma. Long live Democracy.

Boycott Olympic? No way! Those all big countries need to do 'Economical Boycott'! That will give a great 'pain in China's ass'. But, big countries wont do that, either.
ASEAN won't help at all as they are afraid to lose their chances for exploiting our country's natural resources, manpower, skills, handicrafts, OPIUM, etc. They don't want us to get Democracy. And, besides, which ASEAN country has 'REAL DEMOCRACY'? They all disgusise! They all learn from former ASIAN MAFIAS, NE WIN and MARCOS!
Do something for Burma, big men (Bush, Gordon Brown)! Dont let us sleep in terror for another decade.
